All Bank of Belleville Debit Mastercard holders will receive a new card. Your new card will be mailed the week of October 21. You will also receive a new PIN which will be mailed separately for security purposes. You may change your PIN beginning on November 11 by calling (877) 965-3344. Use your current Bank of Belleville Debit Mastercard through Wednesday, November 6, after which it will be inactive.

ATM

Use Any ATM for FREE

Our ATM located at 215 S. Illinois St. will be unavailable on November 7. Balance inquiries at this ATM will be unavailable until November 11. Your Bank of Belleville Debit Mastercard will work at any other ATM.

Online, Mobile & Telephone Banking

Online, Mobile and Telephone Banking will be unavailable November 7-11 

New App available November 12

Online, Mobile & Telephone banking will be unavailable beginning at 6:15 pm on November 7. These services will resume November 12.

  • When logging in for the first time your Online/Mobile Banking User ID will remain the same. Your initial password will be your User ID + the last four digits of your SSN or Tax ID (i.e. mmouse6789).
  • If you are an Apple user, you will need to update your Bank of Belleville app in the App Store.
  • If you are an Android user, you will need to download our new app by visiting the Google Play Store and searching for “Bank of Belleville.” The new app will be available November 12.
  • Telephone Banking PINs will need to be updated when first accessing the new system. Your initial PIN will be the last four digits of your SSN or Tax ID.

Bill Pay

Unavailable November 7-11

Bill pay services will be unavailable beginning on November 7. These services will resume November 12.

  • Payments scheduled to go out during and after this blackout period and future recurring payments will go out as scheduled.
  • Payee information & payment history will be retained.

Mobile Deposit & Remote Deposit Capture

Unavailable November 7-11

Mobile Deposit will be unavailable beginning at 3:30 pm on November 7. This service will resume on November 12.

 

Debit Cards

You will be receiving a new Bank of Belleville Debit Card

If you have an active debit card, we’ll send you a new Bank of Belleville Debit Mastercard. Your new card will be mailed the week of October 21. You’ll be able to start using it on Thursday, November 7. You will also receive a new PIN, which will be mailed separately for security purposes. If you want to customize your PIN, you may change it beginning on November 11 by calling 877-965-3344. Use your current Bank of Belleville Debit Mastercard through Wednesday, November 6, after which it will be inactive.

Temporary lower withdrawal limits during transition

During the period from November 7 through November 11, traditional debit card limits may be lower until our full system upgrade is complete on Tuesday, November 12. We recommend you plan accordingly and withdraw any cash you may need prior to November 7. Our standard limits will be reinstated no later than midnight, Monday, November 11.

 

Online Banking and Mobile Banking

Online Banking and Bill Pay will have new features and our new online banking system will be easier to navigate.

Online and Mobile Banking will be temporarily unavailable

Online and Mobile Banking and Bill Pay will be unavailable beginning 6:15 pm Thursday, November 7, through Monday November 11, during our system upgrades. Please make note of this and plan your transactions.

Logging into the new system

Your username will stay the same. Upon your initial login on November 12, you will use a temporary password (User ID + last four digits of your SSN or Tax ID). After your successful login, you will be prompted to reset your password.

You may login and complete this process on the Bank of Belleville website or through your mobile device. If you use an Apple device, you will need to update your app through the App Store. If you use an Android device, you will need to download the new Bank of Belleville app from the Google Play Store by searching for Bank of Belleville.

Bill Pay during and after the upgrade

All your existing payees will be loaded into the new system with your recurring payments intact; however, we recommend verifying your payees and payments are accurate upon your first login. Payments scheduled to go out during and after this blackout period and future recurring payments will go out as scheduled.

Following our system enhancements, funds will be debited from your account when initiating bill payments on the Process Date versus the Due Date. The Process Date will be shown when initiating your payments.

Keeping copies of cleared checks

Checks clearing your account after Tuesday, November 12 will be available for access via online banking. Copies of checks prior to November 12 will not be available. If you wish to retain this information, we recommend that you print or download check copies prior to November 7. You may also obtain a copy of a check by contacting us.

 

Telephone Banking

Telephone banking will be temporarily unavailable

Access to our telephone banking service will be unavailable from 6:15 pm Thursday, November 7 through Monday, November 11.

Accessing telephone banking following our system enhancements

Beginning November 12, your initial PIN will be the last four digits of your SSN or Tax ID. You will then be prompted to update your PIN. The Bank of Belleville telephone banking number will remain the same (618) 236-4747.

 

Changes to Account Numbers

Checking and savings account numbers will NOT change

All your existing checks will be valid after the technology upgrade.

Some account numbers WILL change

With our enhancement, we will make some revisions in our internal systems for some types of accounts. See the chart below for which type of account numbers will change.

Your new account number will affect transactions from other financial institutions

If you have deposits or loan payments transferred from another financial institution to a Bank of Belleville account with a new account number, you will need to let the other institution know of the change after November 11.

You do not need to update anything with internal transactions

If you are transferring funds within Bank of Belleville accounts, we will update your account numbers the first time you make a transaction. You do not need to take any action.

 

Checking and Savings Accounts

You will receive a special statement dated November 7 which will reflect all activity from the previous statement date thru end of business November 7.

Checking Account Statement Cycles

Following our technology upgrade all checking account statements will be generated as follows:

  • Consumer Accounts: 20th of each month*
  • Business Accounts: End of each month*

*Statements will be generated on the business day prior to this date if the regular statement date is a non-business day.

Account Number Changes

Checking and Savings account numbers will not change as part of this process.

Monthly Statements

Your new statements will have a slightly different look, but will contain all the same information.

If you currently receive e-statements, you will continue to receive them

If you currently access your monthly statement through Online Banking, you will continue to receive it through that service.

Account Analysis Processing

For those clients using Account Analysis, we will be updating our processing schedule following our technology upgrades. Today, Account Analysis charges are applied one-month in arrears (e.g. fees incurred in July are charged in August).

Effective November 2019, these fees will be assessed in the same month they are incurred (e.g. fees incurred in August will be charged in August).

Please note in November you will see two sets of Account Analysis charges – one for October 2019 and one for November 2019.

Balance Information

Your balance will now be called “memo balance”

In our current system you see your account balance as ACCOUNT BALANCE and AVAILABLE BALANCE. After our enhancement, you will see the term MEMO BALANCE to reflect your funds available to withdraw, pay checks, or process any electronic transactions. This transition will not impact how your checks, deposits, and electronic transactions are processed; just the terminology used for balance information is different.

 

Certificates of Deposit/IRA

Account Number Changes

All CD and IRA account numbers will now be made of a series of two numbers (Customer Number – Account Number). Your existing accounts will now be numbered as follows:

IRAs

A random 9-digit number will be generated to act as your customer number (first set of numbers). Your current account number will remain your account number (second set of numbers).

For example:
Current Number: 987654321
New Number: 535787969-987654321

CDs

Your current account number will be duplicated to create your new customer number.

For example:
Current Number: 123456789
New Number: 123456789-123456789

Renewal Terms

Our standard CD Terms are 3, 6, 9, 12, 18, 24, 36, 48 and 60 Months. If your current CD is a non-standard (Special Term) it will renew at maturity as indicated on the table below:

Loans

Account Number Changes

All loan numbers will be reduced from 9-digit to 8-digit Borrower Numbers followed by a 4 digit Note Number.

Your new Borrower Number will be made of the last 8-digits (minus leading zeros) of your current loan number (ie. 201908985 becomes 1908985). Your new note number will be a random 4 digits, for example, 0010.

For example:
Current Number: 201908985
New Number: 1908985-0010

It will be important that you update your loan number on any electronic payments (ACH, Bill Pay, etc.) you are currently using.

 

Safe Deposit Boxes

Account Number Changes

All Safe Deposit Box account numbers will be going from 10 digits to 8 digits. The leading two digits of your account number will be dropped. The remainder of the account number will remain unchanged, with the final three digits representing your box number.

For example:
Current Number: 1401400789 (Box Number 789)
New Number: 01400789 (Box Number 789)
